Scripture 

Proverbs 3: 7-8

Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn away from evil. 8 Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones. 

Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. 8 It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.

Observation

1. Do not become impressed with myself, my wisdom, or accomplishments.

2. Fear God

3. Turn from evil

The results will be:

1. Healing to my body, flesh

2. Refreshment and strength to my bones

application

1. Pride can make me physically ill.

Pride is a spiritual cancer that destroys body, soul, and spirit.

2. The opposite of pride is the fear of God.

If I have a proper fear of God I will not exalt myself.

3. When I fear God I will turn away from evil.

Respect and an awesome of God will lead to obedience.

4. True whole health comes from a right relationship with Jesus.

Healing, strength, and refreshment comes from the fear of God.

Prayer

May I have a proper respect and awe of You.  May I truly worship you as king of kings and lord of lords.  May I fear your might, be in awe of your majesty, and worship your glory.
