Finding Rest

Scripture

Matthew 11: 28-30

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

Observation

1. Go to Jesus

2. Who?

All who are weary and carry heavy burdens

3. Why?

Jesus will give me rest.

4. Let Jesus teach me

5. Why?

Jesus is humble and gentle

6. The results?

I will find rest for my soul

7. Why?

Jesus' yoke is easy to bear and his burden is light.

Application

1. When I am overwhelmed I am to:

A. Go to Jesus

B. Allow him to teach me

C. Believe in his character

D. Allow him to carry my burdens

E. Be his co-worker not try to do everything on my own.

Prayer

I need you.  I need your presence.  I need you to teach me.  I need your help.  I need you today.
